The 4th Day of Christmas- Assembling the tree

So, after the late night of retrieving boxes, we decided to have the Gibbs family over to have dinner and help us assemble the tree. Colten helped me with the first two layers, as they were very heavy and needed holding :o).
(For those of you trouble-shooters who have the problem of faulty electrical... this story is for you!) We got about about 3/4 up the tree, and when it was plugged in, it didn't work! Last year when that happened, it was because a bulb was missing, so Larena and I took the layer of branches down and sat on the floor, looking for that darn missing bulb. She had the brilliant idea of plugging it in to the wall and the lights came on! Okay, so there's got to be some electrical problem, right? We get it back up on the tree, plug it in... and nothing. What now? Then we realized that if the strand is PLUGGED INTO ITSELF IT WON'T WORK EITHER!! We laughed and laughed!! Needless to say, operator error accounts for most problems- LOL!
This picture is after the tree is up and dinner was finished, the boys took to playing Polly Pockets. We really need more boy toys... maybe Christmas is a good excuse for that to happen. :o)

  1. Oh cute, the polly pockets picture. I thought you were gonna save that one for blackmail?? J/K, these boys couldn't care less if the whole world sees them playing with polly pockets. Colten has no shame. He just enjoys life and doesn't care what anyone thinks. I love my boy!!
